MMWU FOUNDER - DR. JOSHUA LINGEL

Joshua Lingel taught ‘Christian Apologetics to Islam in the Biblical Studies & MA Apologetics Departments of Biola University & Talbot School of Theology. He was the recipient of an award from the Billy Graham/Leighton Ford ministry in Evangelism for leading students to evangelize 4-5,000 Muslims in mosques, restaurants, and halal meat market shops in Los Angeles.

Joshua Lingel received his life calling at 18 years of age when the Holy Spirit spoke to him to, “Train the global church to evangelize the Muslim world in one generation.”

Joshua is passionate about finishing the Great Commission among the 2 billion Muslims in this generation. Joshua focuses on strategy, mobilization, and training, mainly serving the largest global denominations and ministries. i2 Ministries conducts national pastors congresses training 1-20,000 leaders launching the Every Muslim for Christ Initiative. These initiatives bring solutions addressing the ideological and missional challenges among Muslims by training and mobilizing national churches to evangelize ‘every Muslim’ within a ‘5k’ radius of every local church. Joshua has invitations to train and launch initiatives in over 70 countries.

Joshua serves as a leader in: The Global Council of Missions (GCM) Board Member; Transform World (2005-2033); Facilitator, Ideological Challenge of Islam, International Facilitator; and Strategic Resources Group (SRG) Advisory Board.

Joshua Lingel holds an M.A. in Islamic Studies/Islamic Societies and Cultures from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), University of London, an M.A. in Philosophy of Religion and Ethics from Talbot School of Theology, and a B.A. Political Science, University of Washington.

God’s Bible School & College (gbs.edu) has partnered with Mission Muslim World University (mmwu.org) to offer a groundbreaking pathway to a fully accredited Master of Arts in Ministry—with a specialized Islamic Studies Concentration.

This degree is designed for graduates of Bible colleges who want graduate-level theology and ministry training to evangelize and disciple Muslims with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Students will complete:

  • 18 credit hours through God’s Bible School & College (core theology and ministry courses)

  • 18 credit hours through MMWU (specialized Islamic Studies courses)

Graduates will be awarded an MA in Ministry from God’s Bible School & College.


How It Works

  • Complete MMWU Coursework – Finish nine designated MMWU “MA Version” courses and receive completion certificates.

  • Apply to God’s Bible School & College – MMWU students must be accepted through GBSC’s admissions process.

  • Transfer Credits to GBSC – Submit certificates to GBSC for 18 transfer credits toward your MA.

  • Earn Your Degree – Complete the remaining 18 GBSC courses fully online and graduate with your accredited Master’s.
